MERIT SCHOLARSHIP
Orthodox Christian Campus Ministries is pleased to offer the Mission and Merit Scholarship for students involved in the Orthodox community and their university OCCM chapter. The mission of OCCM is to connect college students in faith, practice, community service, and the values of the Orthodox church. By offering the OCCM Mission and Merit Scholarship, we offer opportunities to students who embody this mission and exceed academic standards. Selection is based on both academic and non-academic student achievements. Evaluation criteria are based on GPA, extracurricular activities, a personal statement, community service, and other aspects such as leadership and work experiences.

Number of Scholarships:
Applicants will be awarded a one-time scholarship applicable toward the educational expenses of a four-year college. A total of three scholarships will be awarded annually: one award of $1,000 and two awards of $500.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants are to:

Be Oriental Orthodox and an active member in their church and OCCM Chapter

Possess a high school diploma

Have been accepted to an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in the SUS OCCM jurisdiction

Be able to demonstrate an awareness and commitment to the Orthodox Christian community’s needs

Be actively involved in volunteering, church service, or other extracurricular activities

Have been an active member of OCCM for at least one full academic year (two semesters)

Have a minimum GPA of 3.25

Complete the scholarship application and submit all required documents by November 18th
