"Well done, good and faithful servant." Words that we all aspire to hear from our Lord. This year, our OCCM chapters were successful in completing a total of 213 hours of community service, and as the Community Service Committee Chair, it was an honor to witness the service each chapter set forth before Christ. I was fortunate to work closely with a few individuals from various states in encouraging our chapters to partake in community service throughout this year. However, my responsibilities were nothing compared to the service done by each chapter. Whether it was collecting donations for a food bank, painting a house, or cleaning a local church, our chapters found creative and inspiring ways to serve our Lord. That is the exact beauty of community service: the action itself may change, yet the purpose is one, which is for the glory of His name.

As I was looking through pictures of one Tennessee chapter serving in a construction site for Habitat for Humanity and another Texas chapter serving foster children, I could not help but notice the joy these members seemed to have in doing good. Service is not a favor, but an opportunity to make an impact on the life of another. Rightly so should we be smiling when we are given the opportunity to serve another life, especially during these difficult times when our opportunities have multiplied. As our services flourish throughout our college careers and thereafter, may we continue to struggle in being good and faithful servants to our Savior so that when others see our works, He may be glorified.
